Every athlete needs to be considered as a whole athlete. What that means is as coaches or even parents we can broaden our awareness to think about their entire life journey, not just the pieces that take place in a gym. How we all handle adversity, knowing how to ask for help and from whom, or even just the ability to see and come to accept the reality in front of us can help guide athletes, parents, and coaches to a better more fulfilling sports experience and life. You are not your thoughts - You 'think' your thoughts. (2019)
We underestimate the control we have over our thoughts. We are not controlled by them or the emotions they bring up. When you start to view your thoughts as 'actions' and something you have a say in your ability to adapt and 'choose' new thoughts brings more success and enjoyment.
